Virginia Water Parks
Virginia Water parks include Water Country USA, Waterworks, Ocean Breeze, Splash Down. Water Mine Family, Swimmin’ Hole, Great Waves, Massanutten’s, Pocahontas State Park’s, Great Waves, and Great Wolf Lodge’s keep Summer fun cool. Water Country USA is the mid-Atlantic's largest family water play park featuring state-of-the-art water rides and attractions set to a 1950s and '60s surf theme.
The park offers a surf shop and a gift shop, seven dining establishments, locker rental, bathhouse facilities and free use of life vests and inner tubes.
Water Works is a 19-acre water park located in conjunction with Kings Dominion Amusement Park in Doswell, Virginia, north of Richmond. Admission to Water Works is included in the Kings Dominion entrance fee or season pass price. This trend is not unusual. Water Works opens on Memorial Day weekend and closes the day after Labor Day. Hours are from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The park not only features the world's tallest enclosed, dark tube slide, but it is also home to Surf City Splash House; a giant water-powered playhouse featuring more than 50 water-filled attractions. Surf City includes a swinging bridge, multiple water slides, and a 40-foot-high water bucket that just must tip over to spill cold water onto an unsuspecting parent or two.
Ocean Breeze Waterpark is Virginia Beach's ONLY water park. Located just 1.5 miles from the Oceanfront area, it's a quick trip from wherever you are!
Ocean Breeze Waterpark offers 16 waterslides, the 1 million-gallon Runaway Bay wave pool, the Buccaneer Bay children's area and other fantastic attractions. While visiting Ocean Breeze Waterpark, check out the West Indies BBQ, Island Trader Gift Shop, or Shipwreck Island Arcade.
Open daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day each summer.
Wildly Wet, Fabulous Fun is waiting for you and your family at Splash Down Waterpark, Northern Virginia’s largest Waterpark.
Splash Down features 5 different water areas along with all of your favorite summer foods at the Coney Island Café, Paradise Pizza and Sweets N Treats.
The Water Mine Family Swimmin' Hole offers more than an acre of slides, flumes, sprays, showers, floatables and interactive play features, circled by Rattlesnake River with a 2.5 mile per hour current that gently nudges tubes along. A bit of the old west is recreated here. Kids careen off covered wagons, float on rattlesnakes and dash through showers tipped from water-filled ore carts.
The centerpiece is Pete's Peak, a craggy mountain dotted with boarded up mine shafts and tunnels. Twin gang slides - Big Pete and Little Pete - jut from the mountain, giving youngsters a thrill ride they'll return to again...and again...and again.
Massanutten Meltdown - The central feature of the indoor WaterPark is a unique multi-story interactive water fortress with lots of fun for all ages.
It has a bit of everything - from water cannons to the “FLOW” . It gives novice and experts a thrill without the pain.
Pocahontas Park has three pools of different depths -- a 5-foot, a 3-foot and a kiddie pool, which had a jungle-gym-like structure in the middle, complete with slides, water guns and little fountains. There's a wet deck, where water shoots out of the ground and overhead from pipes and, to the delight of my three, two bigger water slides.
Cameron Run Regional Park offers a variety of recreation facilities in an urban area, including Great Waves Water Park. Catch a wave in the wave pool, twist and turn down four-story water slides, take a plunge down speed slides, play with friends in the shallow waters of the play pool. The park also features a deluxe miniature golf course, a nine-station batting cage, picnic shelters, and a special events pavilion.
Great Wolf Lodge is a first-class, full-service, year-round family destination resort designed to capture the atmosphere and adventure of the northwoods. Serving as Virginia's Year-Round Family Resort™, Great Wolf Lodge provides a comprehensive package of destination lodging amenities, including 405 family-sized suites; a 67,000 square-foot indoor entertainment area, featuring a grand scale waterpark; arcade with ticket redemption; children's craft and activity room; Aveda® Concept Spa; fitness room; two northwoods-themed restaurants; confectionery café; state-of-the-art meeting space; spacious outdoor pool; gift emporium and a performing Great Clock Tower.
